As the world changes, the global superyacht market continues to evolve, shaped by steady brokerage interest alongside sustained demand for new builds. Few shipyards within this landscape have witnessed the same consistent interest and strength across both segments as Italian shipyard Benetti. Regularly ranked as the largest builder of superyachts measuring over 24 metres in length, Benetti offers buyers heritage, a pedigree name, global recognition, and market resilience all in one streamlined package.
Part of the Azimut|Benetti Group, Benetti benefits from the scale and stability of the company. According to data from the group, for 2024-2025, it held an approximate 14 per cent of the global market share, with 167 yachts under construction, marking a 23 per cent increase in production value. Reinforcing Benetti’s ongoing dominance in the new-build market, it also underpins the long-term confidence buyers place in the yachting brand.
At the same time, market data points to a clear shift in buyer behaviour, with the majority of superyacht transactions now taking place within the brokerage sector. In 2025, new-build sales accounted for just 6.8 percent of total transactions according to data from DenisonYachtsales, underscoring the growing dominance of the pre-owned market. In addition, brokerage sales exceeded 600 transactions globally in 2025 according to Boat International, reflecting continued year-on-year growth, while new-build activity remained comparatively limited. Buyers today are increasingly drawn to the immediate availability of pre-owned yachts, as they can avoid having to deal with extended delivery timelines while benefiting from greater pricing transparency. Highlighting the importance of availability, liquidity, and brand recognition in the resale market, Italian-built yachts, which stem from a country that’s responsible for more than 50 per cent of the global superyacht orderbook, continue to command strong interest on the brokerage market.
Benetti’s position within the brokerage market is supported by its scale and performance. Historically, approximately 35 per cent of Benetti’s fleet of superyachts measuring over 30 metres has been listed for sale – significantly more than the market average of around 23 per cent, reflecting both the size of its fleet and the consistent availability of its yachts on the market. More importantly, however, Benetti superyachts have demonstrated strong transactional performance over the years. According to data from SuperYachtTimes Intelligence (SYT iQ) 2019 report, Benetti superyachts sold faster than the broader market, with an average time on market of approximately 535 days compared to an industry average of 656 days. Over a two-year period, Benetti superyachts also generated approximately €510 million in brokerage sales, underlining their liquidity and sustained buyer interest. In practical terms, this translates into a more predictable ownership cycle. Buyers entering the market with a Benetti superyacht not only benefit from a proven platform but also from a shipyard and brand with clear resale visibility and global recognition.
Benetti’s position within the new build sector is equally well established. The shipyard’s semi-custom models and fully custom projects offer a balance between design, quality, personalisation, and technical reliability. Current series, including the B.Now, Oasis and Class series reflect an innovative design philosophy centred on volume, lifestyle, and connection to the open waters, while maintaining the engineering standards expected from a leading Italian shipyard. Benetti’s ongoing commercial success is further illustrated by the strong sales numbers of models like the Oasis 40M and the B.Now 50M, with the former selling 20 units in under three years and the latter 15 units in under three years, according to Benetti. Other tried and tested platforms, including the Mediterraneo and Delfino series, maintain consistent performance across both new build and brokerage markets, reinforcing Benetti’s strong resale track record and, in turn, enhancing the appeal of its new-build offering.
Ultimately, Benetti’s success across the new build and brokerage markets offers potential owners a distinct strategic advantage. In a global market defined by shifting dynamics and increasing complexity, Benetti stands out as a shipyard uniquely positioned to deliver both immediate opportunity and long-term value.
